Writer stands firmly against fracking on Manitoulin

To the Expositor:

I am a seasonal resident of the Manitoulin Island and I want to go on record that I vehemently oppose fracking on the Island for the following reasons:

1. It completely destroys the ground water for eons to come as a result of the pollutants that are released.

2. There is evidence to prove that as a result of fracking the incident of earthquakes increases dramatically

6. My family dates back to the earliest settlements on the Island and I have instilled in my children and grandchildren the true value and natural beauty of the Island and I would be saddened by this affront to the pristine quality of the Island.

For the above reasons I stand firmly against fracking. Look at the damage to the environment that has been going on for years as a result of fracking. And as they admit they do not understand ground water. And that is what this is all about.

I would like to be helpful in whatever way I can be.
