The Greater Sudbury Police Service continues to investigate the discovery of the deceased person found last evening. Earlier today Police conducted a ground search of the area where the body had been located as well as a canvass of a nearby neighborhood.
This remains a coroner’s investigation. A post mortem examination will be conducted on Monday.
On the 23rd of April 2016 at approximately 8:14 p.m. the Greater Sudbury Police Service were alerted to a possible body being located behind the Dollarama on Long Lake Road. Police attended the area and confirmed that there was a deceased person located in a small body of water off of the parking lot.
The Coroner was notified and is currently in charge of the investigation.
Police are assisting the Coroner’s office in relation to this investigation at this time.
