Thank you for the blessings, the healing prayers and tears and for all the music in 2015. Keep singing, keep smiling!

We all got a bonus bingo card at Monday night bingo, Steven bought the coffee, and some folks brought some delicious snacks. Skylar was home from school with a bug! Pauline came in for a visit and was bearing a gift (an Angel bell).

Saw Floyd (Hopkins) at the post office celebrating his birthday today before they had taken Mum, Selina to lunch at Mindemoya to celebrate her birthday, Happy Birthday!

The last cribbage until New Year (6th of 2016). We had five tables and a lot of fun. High hand, Cal, 24; first, Eugine and Dorothy, 952; second, Marg and Simon, 918; third, Bill and Betty Jean, 911; low, Gib and Florence, 798; door, Jay and Bert.

We thank all who helped make our cribbage year so enjoyable.

Euchre tournament Thursday evening. We had new cooks in the kitchen too. Floyd and Mary associates by Reuben and Jessica.

High scorers, Blaine and Rita, 80; second, Sandra and Doris, 79; third, Dorothy and Eugene, 78; fourth, Marilyn and Marie, 72; three lone hands, Doris and Sandra. Low, Anna and Janet, 43; door prize, Anna Orford. (Next euchre January 7, 1:30 pm)

Susan is doing the 12 days of church with Mum. She gets one beautifully wrapped gift each day with a little clue on the outside. So far she has got new shoes, ironing board cover, a bell with a cat on top, a cat calendar (the cat on the front looks like Riley) and a lovely blouse. Of course she can’t wait to see what’s next! Puzzle books (and it’s good).

Sue, she has the rich daughters and then there is “ME.”

“Mary did you know,” and “O’ Holy night,” you could have heard a  days as everyone took in every lovely note that Kaitlyn was blessed with. The whole concert was one to go down in history, filled with the joy and songs of Christmas, some poems, lovely voices! One of the best concerts ever. Organized by Carole Middaugh, sponsored by Michael’s Bay Historical Society.

The georgeous gifts from Rodney Deforge left some happy young faces in the crowd. Mr. and Mrs. Claus were “Ho Ho Happy” and as welcome and gracious as always. What a nice way to continue on this journey into Christmas. Door prize winners Borden Noble, William Scott and Mildred Sauder. Goodies and refreshments were available. Why I felt so good after I went to Mums and let her beat the tar out of me, at cards and I went home smiling!!

I had a good busy day too. Cal drove me to Espanola for my eye appointment. He has so much patience, what a comfortable man to travel with. On the way home we stopped in and Sherry got the heart monitor hooked up properly. Couldn’t get it activated early this. (This one they can read far away?) I had tea with Cal before heading home, Sherry comes in with the news, Dr. Morris office calls, I go to find results on Tuesday, in Sudbury. (I’m working on bottom and top challenges!!) Oh yeah, we had our lunch at Rustys. Saw Betty and Eric, Rita and Margaret who am I missing?

To all our dear friends at T.L.C. Centennial Manor, Wiky Nursing Home, and Gore Bay Lodge. All the very best wishes for Christmas and the New Year!

Got a nice phone call from Jim Johnson who sounded wonderful, and says he is enjoying life and the care he gets in Seaforth Manor!

Well you won’t be hearing from me now until next year, when I will be much older and I’m sure “NO” wiser. Ginger is playing like a baby kitten beside me with a paper bag! How cute is that!

Yesterday was busy, got home 9:30ish. We sang a Christmas song to Derek (Jingle Bells). Mum, Susan and I with Simon wanting to sing back up. Then Derek sang us Rudolph until he forgot the words, loud and clear. I have to confess, some of the modern technology actually impresses me!

Church today, fourth Sunday of Advent “Love (Peace, Joy, Hope previous) Carol’s and Earl’s Christmas table set up just for us. Gold cutlery,  just beautiful. Mum and I went to Susan and Simons after and played some cards. Met the new pony, “Trick.” Adorable. Pauline and Wayne brought loads of Chinese food for our late afternoon meal. Sherry and Dave joining us as always fun and laughter. Two games of Tiki, I won one. Susan or Pauline won the night? As always a great get together.
