TEHKUMMAH—Tehkummah Fire Department (TFD) received a couple of donations from South Shore Volunteer Firefighters Association (SSVFA) recently, a cheque to cover the $1,700 cost of a portable foam system and $400 for a new office printer.

Jeff Wilson, TFD fire chief explained the foam system is used to apply fire retardant foam on car fires or other fires where foam is beneficial.
“This foam system cuts down on the amount of foam needed to put a fire out. “As the fire chief I appreciate all the hard work SSVFA does to raise money to support the fire department and the Township of Tehkummah,” Mr. Wilson added.

SSVFA holds a huge yard sale in South Baymouth every Canada Day weekend with items donated to them by people in Tehkummah and beyond. “SSVFA greatly appreciates the donations it receives as well as the volunteers time and commitment to hold the yard sale in order to help the community with things that are needed,” Mr. Wilson concluded.
