Spring Bay Rural Route March 19

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to everyone! When Irish eyes are smiling it’s like a morn in spring.

It sure was cold on Saturday night here. March is slipping away and we are ready for spring. Campbell Horticultural Society held their March meeting on the 11th at the Spring Bay Community Centre. The guest speaker was Seija Deschenes on ‘Re-greening Manitoulin;’ she also showed slides. Dave, Theresa and Carson Dufort from North Bay, Allen and Rose Marie visited me Monday afternoon, and helped to celebrate my birthday. My four nieces took me to lunch on Monday at Mum’s Restaurant.

We extend sympathy to the McDermid family in the passing of Doug after a lengthy illness. He will be missed. Ken and Sheila Maeck went to Sudbury on Monday for a doctor’s appointment. Hi Emily Noble, it was nice to hear from you. Happy belated birthday wishes to Don Norton, who celebrated on Sunday. Watched the Men’s Grand Slam curling all week, Glen Howard’s rink won against Gushue’s rink. This week we are watching the ladies. Lots of curling going on the TV, some good games to watch.

Get well wishes to all who are sick.
