Spring Bay Rural Route Jan22

January 9—I hope the rest of January will give us better weather. So much wind and frosty weather.

We extend sympathy to the Belton family in the passing of Rick. And note the passing of Tom Cranston Sr. His funeral was Wednesday. They will be missed.

David, Connie and I had New Year’s dinner with Allen and Rosemarie Eagleson in Little Current.

A little mistake in my news last week. It should have read Keith Finnlay and Megean Madore, Kari and Brenda were also with the Peevers for Christmas.

I just had a call from Barbara (McColeman) McKnight of the Massey area. Her grandparents lived next to my home here on the 12th Line. Nice to hear from her.

Merlin and Christina Lewis spent Christmas in Sudbury with some of their family.

Providence Bay Agriculture Society held their annual meeting Wednesday evening at the Spring Bay community centre. Lyle Dewar is the president for 2014. He does a fine job.

The congregation at the Pentecostal Church in Spring Bay welcomed in the New Year with a nice meal and fellowship get-together.

Euchre games will start at the Providence Bay hall again each Tuesday evening.

School has started again and I think of the wee tots when it’s so cold in the mornings.

Happy New Year to all! And we hope for warmer weather.
