Shirley Ann Bond, a resident of Manitowaning, died peacefully at Manitoulin Health Centre, on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the age of 79. Born to Gladys (nee Paisley) and Jim Hunter, in Tehkummah, on February 17, 1936. Shirley was a very active volunteer in her community, receiving many awards. Beloved wife of Albert Bond (predeceased May 16, 1980). Loved mother of Diane Cosby (Charlie predeceased) of Sault Ste. Marie, Doug Bond (Dianne McRae) of Mississauga, and Margaret Lynne “Maggie” Bond (predeceased July 30, 2003) (Brian Flegel). Proud grandmother of Michael, Matthew, Alicia, Jennifer and Kimberley. Cherished great-grandmother of Madisyn, Jackson and Kana. Dear sister of Fred Hunter (Carolyn) of Tehkummah, and Mary Lou Phillips (Dave predeceased) of Sunderland. Good friend of Don Labelle. Will always be remembered by nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends gathered at Knox United Church, Manitowaning on Saturday, November 28, 2015. Visitation from 10 am.
