Sharon Lane, a resident of Gore Bay, died at the Mindemoya Hospital on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the age of 66 years. She was born in Gore Bay, daughter of the late John and Louise (Smith) Lane. Sharon loved nature, sailing with Fern or even just sitting on the sailboat, watching boat traffic coming and going into Gore Bay and having Sunday dinner at Buoys with Fern. Fern was a wonderful companion for Sharon for many years, helping in any way he could. Sharon’s other great pleasure in life was her family and spending time with them whenever possible. Sharon is survived by her special friend and companion Fern Chamberland. She will be missed by her brother Ron and his wife Greta of Gore Bay and by her nephews Drew (Melinda), Nicholas (Ashley) and her niece Lindsay (Lyndon) and great-nephews Landon, Bentley and great-niece Savannah. Sharon was predeceased by a great-niece Amanda and great-nephew D’Arcy. Cremation will take place. A memorial service to celebrate Sharon’s life will be held at Gordon Cemetery in the spring at a date and time to be announced.
