In loving memory of Sandy Ferguson, 71 years, who passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Maison Vale Hospice. Beloved husband of Patricia (nee Kett) of Sudbury for 50 years. Loving father of Lori-Anne Leahy (husband Ray) of Hanmer and David (wife Debra) Ferguson also of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather to Justin Leahy of Waterloo, Kate-Lynn Leahy (Jay Boudreault) of Oshawa and Breanna Ferguson of Sudbury. Sandy was the only child of Fred and Ilean (nee Mervyn) of Gore Bay, both predeceased. Sandy was a 40-year employee of INCO, retiring in 2000. He was a heavy equipment operator and spent years as an engineer on the electric trains. Sandy took great pleasure in his yard and gardens. The family would like to thank the staff at Maison Vale Hospice for months of kindness and compassion. The staff and volunteers are truly gifted and special people. With so many to thank a special thanks to Big Mike and Tyler for their care routines and for making Sandy smile during a very difficult time. At Sandy’s request, the family will receive friends at the family home, May 11, 2013 at 1 pm. Cremation to take place at Park Lawn Crematorium. At Sandy’s request there will be no visitation or funeral. Sandy’s ashes will be placed on Manitoulin Island alongside his parents.
