Rockin’ the Rock returns bigger and better than ever

LITTLE CURRENT – Hot on the heels of the highly successful Manitoulin Country Fest 2019, the Island’s second biggest music festival is set to begin this Friday, August 16 with a lineup that promises to blast it out of the park—or the Flatrock Entertainment grounds at least.

The action will start to heat up early on Friday evening with the soon-to-be legendary participants in this year’s Band Battle Showcase, featuring Highway 69, Lion House and Northern Rage.

Rockin’ the Rock host and comedian Derek Seguin will take to the stage shortly after 8 pm, followed by Platinum Blonde at 9 pm. Headliners Glass Tiger will top off the night beginning around 10:30 pm.

On Saturday, metal queen Lee Aaron will start things off at 5:30 pm, followed by Quebecoise sensation The Box at 7 pm. At 8:30 pm Toronto will rock it up a few notches in preparation for the Saturday night headliners, Trooper.

The event will take place rain or shine. Organizer KT Timmermans notes, “If it rains, we pour…more beer!” Come prepared for any type of weather, including rain gear, and get ready for one rocking good time.

But behave, the grounds will be patrolled by licenced security. Remember, the speed limit throughout the camping area is 15 kph. Please respect safety and reduce your speed. Quiet time is 12 am to 7 am. Pets are allowed but must be on a leash or caged at all times. Appropriate wristbands must be worn at all times.

The venue gates open at 5:30 pm on Friday and 3:30 pm on Saturday, but those camping onsite can arrive as early as noon on August 15. Remember, gates close at 11 pm. Everyone onsite must have a ticket to the event. Tickets can be purchased by phone 1-866-755-7425, Monday through Friday from 6 am to 4 pm. Weekend admission for the 19-plus event is $100, day passes (yes, also 19-plus) are Friday $50 and Saturday $60. Camping non-site specific is $100 and site specific $125. Tickets can also be purchased online at rockintherock.ca.
