Bank of Montreal staff fourth annual Walk So Kids Can Talk
GORE BAY—Staff of the Bank of Montreal in Gore Bay participated in the fourth annual Walk So Kids Can Talk on Saturday, April 30, supporting Kids Help Phone.
Deborah Woods, BMO branch manager, explained that, “the walk over the weekend raised $1.4 million across Canada.”
Kids Help Phone is a charity that provides confidential and anonymous counseling to kids between the ages of 5-20, in English and French.

More votes needed to help CMPS get an outdoor classroom
MINDEMOYA—With voting concluding early next week, the need for local residents to vote online for Central Manitoulin Public School (CMPS) to have a chance to win an outdoor learning classroom through the CST Inspired Minds Learning Project is critical.
“We are currently in 14th place (in voting votes cast),” said Deanna Lewis, pioneer of this idea said in an email to the Recorder this past Tuesday. “Ideally, we need to be in the top 10 in order to move forward to the judging round. Please spread the word around, and keep voting. We have until May 16 to vote daily.”
As reported previously, CMPS is calling on all local citizens to “vote, vote, vote,” so they have a chance to win an outdoor learning classroom through the CST Inspired Minds Learning Project.
Prizes are awarded based on a combination of popular online voting and a judging panel. The top 20 votes getting ideas move on to the judging round. Projects are judged on innovation, impact and viability.
