The municipality of Central Manitoulin began beach and boardwalk maintenance last week. The activities that they are undertaking this year are removal of some shrubs, including the roots, along the water’s edge on the east side of the Mindemoya River for the length of the boardwalk, clearing a path from the boardwalk staircases to the water and removal of some vegetation on the east side of the Mindemoya River. These actions will enhance the area for enjoyment by visitors while enhancing the habitat for species at risk. They will be conducting specific activities each year to enhance the beach. They received a 25-year permit from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry to conduct specific activities and is not intended for members of the general public. If you have any questions about this, please contact the township office directly.

The village square is also looking beautiful. We’re so proud of our community and all of our residents. Keep up all the wonderful work and thank you to all for helping.
