LITTLE CURRENT—The Manitoulin-Espanola Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is proud to welcome the OPP Golden Helmets Precision Motorcycle team. The public is invited for an evening performance of thrilling maneuvers.
The OPP Golden Helmets Precision Motorcycle Team is scheduled to be performing on Water Street in Little Current on Wednesday, August 1 at 6 pm.
Each year they tour the Province of Ontario giving exhibitions of superb riding skills at fairs, festivals and parades. The 17 motorcycles used by the Golden Helmets are Harley Davidson Police Specials. These motorcycles are the same ones used on normal patrol. During each 30-minute performance the riders take their machines through a series of complex patterns intended to demonstrate the maneuverability of the machines and the rider’s skills.
The OPP would like to remind the public that starting at 12 noon on Wednesday, August 1, parking will not be permitted on Water Street from Robinson Street to Manitowaning Road in Little Current. During the performance, Water Street will be closed from Robinson Street to Sim Street.
