OPP arrest females and recover stolen merchandise

WEST PARRY SOUND – On October 19, 2014 members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a local business for the reported theft of several hundred dollars’ worth of merchandise. Prior to Police arrival, two female suspects left the store in a dark coloured vehicle. An alert employee obtained a partial licence plate number which was passed along to attending officers.

With the assistance of Orillia OPP officers, the suspects were located, arrested and returned to Parry Sound.

Ofelia CIUCIU, 33 years of age from Toronto, was charged with:

  1. Theft under $5,000 – Shoplifting, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
  2. Possession property obtained by crime under $5000, contrary to the CCC
  3. 2 counts of Fail to comply with probation order, contrary to CCC

Young person, 16 years of age from Toronto, was charged with:

  1. Theft under $5,000 – Shoplifting, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
  2. Possession property obtained by crime under $5000, contrary to the CCC

The accused have been remanded into custody until they can answer to these charges.
