SUDBURY—Families from the Sudbury area are invited to learn about an exciting global youth organization called Children’s International Summer Villages (CISV). CISV is affiliated with the United Nations and helps to build global friendship through community and international activities for ages 11-18 and beyond. A group of Sudburians plans to build a Sudbury Chapter of this organization.

A delegation of globally minded CISV-youth from across Canada, ranging in age from 14 to 18 years, will be in town and will help us to share with Sudburians what CISV is all about. They are delegates on CISV Canada’s “Peace Bus” and will tell us about how CISV in their communities has made a difference.

CISV develops confident and well-rounded youth by encouraging the development of effective communication skills, cooperative abilities and leadership skills. Youth who participate in CISV “learn by doing” at local and international activities that revolve around four key themes: conflict resolution, diversity, human rights and sustainable development.

Sudbury and area families are invited to learn find out what possibilities exist to participate in international exchanges through CISV, and to build local chapter that will host local community activities.
