Cooler weather draws many of us to warm and welcoming corners of our world—like our local library in Little Current.
There’s been a face lift in the meeting/activity/staff room. Freshly painted walls and up-to-date flooring, a welcome renovation for a well-used space. Your group or club can rent the room for $10/hour by calling the library.

You will see an array of recently acquired fiction books. All the favourite authors are there: James Patterson, Philippa Gregory, Barbara Pym, Khalid Hosseini, Robert Galbraith (J.K. Rowling’s pen name for her crime series), Peter May, Jodi Picoult and several new emerging writers.
Esi Edugyan is being celebrated for her third book, ‘Washington Black,’ the far-reaching story of an 11-year-old slave Wash and his liberator Titch. The reader is taken on an unforgettable journey from Barbados, the Arctic, Nova Scotia, Virginia and beyond. Termed an important book by the reviewers.
Programming funded by the Seniors Community Grant continues with Kate Thompson’s writing workshops. The next series of art workshops and yoga classes will be announced in this paper. In the new year, Barb Baker will hold sessions on elder abuse, end of life planning and internet security, all topics of special interest to seniors. Currently, an advisory group is being organized to help in the selection of library materials. It will be made up of patrons who would like to help choose which books, audiovisuals or other materials should be acquired. Give your name to staff if you are interested and become involved in your community library.
