It is now December, which means it is officially the Christmas season! That means candy canes, eggnog, gingerbread, shortbread, Christmas pudding and fruitcake! But that is only the food! There is also reindeer, elves, stockings and Santa Claus! The Mustangs are preparing for the jolly season with lots of activities, sport, and more!

On Thursday, November 22, the girls’ hockey team played an away game against St. Benedict. The girls won 3-1! Keep it up, girls!

On Monday, November 26 and Tuesday, November 27, the junior and senior boys’ basketball tryouts started. The first cuts have been made to the teams.

Also on Monday, November 26, the girls’ hockey team played an away game against Espanola. The girls played a great game and came away with a victory of 3-1! The boys’ hockey team was also on the road. The boys played against Lively and won 6-1! Great job, Mustangs!

On Wednesday, November 28 there was both a SHARE/Go Green meeting as well as a Headstrong meeting.

On Thursday, November 29, the Dark Horse Cafe was open in the music room. Lovely singing filled the room!

Both the girls’ and boys’ hockey teams played home games on Thursday, November 29. Both teams had many fans and supporters cheering them on!

On Monday, December 3, the boys’ hockey team played an away game against St. Charles.

On Wednesday, December 12 there will be a winter talent show for students! If you are interested in performing at the talent show, speak to Mr. Theijsmeijer.

Also on Wednesday, December 12 there is going to be a Christmas Concert at 7 pm. Come and hear performances by students, the MSS vocal group, and more! Everyone is welcome to attend!

The Winter Formal is going to be held on Friday, December 14! Get your tickets this week (December 3 to 7)! Tickets are $8 or $15 for a couple.

Just a heads up, Awards Night is on Thursday, December 20. A chance to welcome back last year’s graduates and award them for all their hard work.

Thank you to all who donated to the winter coat/clothing drive in November! Each and every donation was very much appreciated!

To all students planning to apply to college next year, keep listening to morning announcements to find out when the next application workshop is taking place.

Joke of the week: What is the best Christmas present in the world? A broken drum, because you can’t beat it!
