In loving memory of Miranda Leslie Kanasawe (Mirzzy) “Mzhakwat kwe” who began her journey to the Spirit World on the morning of October 9, 2011. Mir will be sadly missed by her fiance James Hoy and her son, Tryton. She is the beloved daughter of Lillian (Kanasawe) and Henry Pitawanakwat (stepfather) and Glen Recollect. The eldest sister to Dallas, Tiffany, Courtney, Patrina, Deborah-Lynn, Glenda and Glen Jr. Dear Auntie to Aidan, Lilly, Darcy and Jade. Loving niece of Joseph Kanasawe (Toronto), Donna Fox (Dan) of Massey, Eleanor (David), Robert (Brenda) and Bernice all of Buzwah. Ginette Tobodo (Dan) of Espanola. Predeceased by her Aunt Deborah and Uncle Lawrence, grandparents Levi and Ursula Kanasawe, Catherine and Lawrence Recollet and cousins Josette Fox and Farrell Kanasawe Jr. Also, special granddaughter of Sarah Pitawanakwat (deceased) and a special niece of Mildred, Evelyn, Beverly, Elaine, Elizabeth, Gilbert, Isaac, Theodore and Alphonse. Miranda will be sadly missed by her many great uncles, aunties, cousins and friends. Visitation was from 2 pm at the family home on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, from 2 pm on Thursday, October 13, 2011 and on Friday, October 14, 2011 at St. Ignatius Church. Funeral Mass was at 11 am on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at St. Ignatius Church, Buzwah. Burial at Buzwah Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted with Island Funeral Home.
