MILDRED EILEEN PYETTE (PROPHET)

December 10, 1944 – January 28, 2014

In loving memory of Eileen Pyette who entered into peaceful slumber on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 6:30 am after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Eileen, a resident of Mindemoya, was born in Beaverton, daughter of the late Norman and Ruby (Grigg) Prophet of Brechin, Ontario. She was a long time volunteer of Manitoulin Family Resources, the Food Bank and Clothing Depot; worked for Helping Hands for many years as well as ran her own Daycare in Mindemoya as well as raising her own family. Eileen was a proud cook, making the best lasagna, pizza and sweet and sour spare ribs. A family favourite was her double layer oatmeal cookies filled with jam. She loved to collect treasures, having amassed many wonderful items. Eileen’s greatest love in life was her boys and their families. Many, many memories will be cherished by all of them! Predeceased by her beloved husband Sherman on September 18, 2013. Loving and loved mother of Jeff (Connie) of Gore Bay, Rick (Kate) of Mindemoya, Reuben (Ted) of Huntsville and Steven (Tammy) of Nova Scotia. Proud grandmother of Christopher, Jordan, Brent, Emily, Zachary, Brielle, Zander and Rilla and great granddaughter Karley. Dear sister of Dorothy, predeceased, Bob, predeceased, Ruthy of Orillia, Lornie of Barrie and Jeannie of Beaverton. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside committal service to celebrate Eileen’s life will be held at Hilly Grove Cemetery on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at 1 pm.
