The last regular meeting of the 2017-2018 term was on May 8, two days after the Regional Spring Conference was held at the Complex in Little Current. A sense of accomplishment on a job well done was evident. The conference, which was co-hosted by Mindemoya Auxiliary, was an enjoyable, educational experience. The speakers were knowledgeable and their expertise was appreciated by the delegates. The success of the spaghetti supper held in Manitowaning was another reason for the underlying happy feeling. Once again the supper was well-attended, the meal was super and the entertainment had folks singing along, clapping hands and tapping feet as Robert Shawana, Marcel Labelle, Doug Hore and Debbie Robinson took the stage. A special pre-birthday salute was given to Jean McLennan who will be 100 later this year. We sang Happy Birthday and all joined in to sing one of Jean’s favourite songs ‘You are My Sunshine.’ These were the last two events until further planning in September.

Hats off to Elaine Moore, president, who has worked tirelessly throughout the year. Well done, Elaine!

Ongoing activities continue. We appreciate your support through the Coin Boxes, H.E.L.P.P Lottery, Showcase\Tuck Cart and In Memoriam.

The need for new volunteers continues. Simply put, volunteers provide service. No volunteers, no service. Think about it.

Volunteers are not paid; not because they are worthless but because they are priceless.
