Seija Deschenes, Manitoulin Streams project coordinator and members of the Little Current Fish and Game Club (LCFGC) accept the first place ribbon for the ‘Best Large Booth’ at the 2017 Manitoulin Trade Fair from Mike Addison, LAMBAC general manager, and this year’s fair coordinator Diane Newlands.

MANITOULIN – The Manitoulin Trade Fair brings together businesses wanting to showcase their products and services and those who are looking to buy them.

“Basically, we will have 125 booths filled with vendors-providing one of the largest trade shows in Northern Ontario,” said Diane Newlands, of LaCloche-Manitoulin Business Assistance Corporation (LAMBAC). The 2019 Trade Fair, which will again take place at the NEMI Recreation Centre in Little Current, runs from May 24-26. “The Trade Fair leverages businesses services in the Manitoulin-LaCloche area to promote themselves and sell their products.”

The Trade Fair generally draws over 8,000 visitors, said Ms. Newlands.

“We have lots of exciting new vendors on hand this year,” said Ms. Newlands. “Since the Trade Fair is held biennially, most businesses that have opened in the area the last two years will be there. There is something for everyone, from those selling docks, to those selling coffee.”

“There will be free kids face painting the entire weekend, some mascots are going to on hand, and we have many exciting food vendors providing such favourites as fish and chips, Indian tacos, burgers and fries.”

“There will be something for everyone in the entire family to see, and enjoy,” said Ms. Newlands.

Those wanting more information on the Trade Fair or the list of vendors and what products or services they provide can look on the website ManitoulinTradeFair.com, see the special edition found in this newspaper next week “or we also have a new app where people can download the schedule or look and search the vendors booths, in the App Store and Google Play, for free,” said Ms. Newlands.

The Trade Fair will open Friday, May 24 from 5 to 9 pm, Saturday, May 25 from 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday, May 26 from 10 am to 4 pm. Opening ceremonies will take place Friday at 4:45 pm where local politicians will be taking part in the ribbon cutting ceremonies.
