LITTLE CURRENT–After The Manitoulin Expositor first broke the story of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigation into the bloody yacht charter of accused murderer Dellen Millard, the police service has announced that its investigation is now complete.

On May 14 the Manitoulin OPP Detachment was contacted by the owner of Discovery Yacht Charters of Little Current in relation to a series of concerns involving a vessel chartered to Dellen Millard of Etobicoke in the summer of 2011, a press release from the OPP states.

Proprietor Chris Blodgett contacted police after seeing news of Mr. Millard’s arrest on the national news and recalling the strange circumstances surrounding the man’s charter in 2011. When responding to a mechanical breakdown aboard Mr. Millard’s charter vessel, Mr. Blodgett noted blood spatter around the boat. Mr. Millard had told Mr. Blodgett the blood was a result of his female’s guest menstrual cycle. The female was not noted on the boat at the time (which was at anchor in the North Channel), according to Mr. Blodgett.

“The Manitoulin OPP initiated an investigation into these concerns and has now concluded that investigation,” the OPP release continues. “The results show there are that the concerns brought forth by the owner of Discovery Yacht Charters are unfounded. This completes this investigation, under the direction of OPP Detective Inspector David Hillman of the Criminal Investigation Branch, with the assistance of the OPP Northeast Regional Crime Unit and the Manitoulin OPP.”
