Manitoulin Lodge residents show their appreciation to staff

Residents of the Manitoulin Lodge Nursing Home in Gore Bay showed their appreciation to Lodge staff by preparing a lovely meal for all staff employees on March 23. In photo, three of the Lodge residents help to prepare the meal.

GORE BAY—The residents of the Manitoulin Lodge Nursing Home in Gore Bay made a lovely meal for staff and employees to show their appreciation for all their care and support on March 23.

The residents had all agreed at a resident council meeting that they would like to make a meal for the staff members to show their appreciation for the great care they receive. The menu was created by the residents, which consisted of chicken rice soup, potato salad, pasta salad, apple salad, cold cuts, cheese, homemade rolls and poke cake. The residents started doing the preparation work the day before the meal with final preparations taking place on the day of the meal.

Staff from all departments enjoyed their lunch, making sure to thank the residents for all their hard work in preparing the meal for them.
