Little Current has fourth fire in two months, arsonist to blame

LITTLE CURRENT–Police are searching for an arsonist(s) in Little Current as on Tuesday, August 5 at 9:15 pm, the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a shed fire on Blake Street West in Little Current. This is the fourth fire in two months in the locale and police have said this most recent blaze is “one in a series” of suspicious fires.

The NEMI Fire Department was called to respond to the fire, which occurred behind a vacant residence. A wooden shed, located in the yard behind the Blake Street residence, was destroyed by fire. An investigation is being conducted by members of the Manitoulin Island OPP in cooperation with the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office.

Police are asking residents in the area to be aware of the fires and to report any concerns that may be related to these incidents to police.
