Larry Killens draws attention to Carl’s Trading post’s quiet 50th
To the Expositor:
I wish to comment on an event that quietly slipped by in the village of South Baymouth last week without fan-fare and without notice. The event not being celebrated in a public manner, that I saw, was consistent with the reputation South Baymouth has in the wintertime, that of being, quiet, serene and tranquil.
That event was Carl’s Trading Post passing its 50th anniversary mark of service to our community. The Brown family has maintained and nurtured their business for as many years and march on today without thanks and consistent with their usual “persona.”
They have collectively followed full circle in our community, contributing year after year, serving that community as well in political venues. I can recall always visiting Carl’s and spending hours talking with Carl and his lovely wife.
I say thanks to all the family/extended or otherwise for taking your place in the community and continuing to do so. We all play an important role and contribute to our community and I wish to recognize their 50th—a huge milestone.
