House of Gore put the scare in the bay!

Mystic seance with a floating head helped keep the terror level high at the House of Gore.

GORE BAY—It was indeed the Haunted House of Gore!

The Gore Bay Recreation Committee presented the Haunted House of Gore Bay over four evenings, October 26, 27, 28 and 30. The committee and local volunteers transformed the Red Roof Pavilion into a house of horrors, as evidenced by the scared faces and shrieks of those who went through the ‘haunted house’ (at the Gore Bay pavilion).

One youngster had a half smirk and half smile on her face as she told the Recorder she had been terrified going through the haunted house. But she was quick to add, “it was a lot of fun.”

The Recorder has learned that one adult woman going through the haunted house got so frightened that she fell through a wall from one of the displays and ended up on the other side.

That is a scary scene! This was just one of the terrifying scenes played out at the Haunted House of Gore, presented by the Gore Bay Recreation Committee at the Pavilion last weekend.

Ashley Whyte did a lot of the work setting up the haunted house display, along with Apryl Mayer and Kim Mayer, and other members of recreation committee and town staff.

Work on the haunted house started at the end of September. Bruce Lindsay provided the sound for the haunted house tour.
