GORE BAY—A Gore Bay power lifter won a bronze medal at a provincial competition held this past weekend in Belle River, Ontario.
Malcolm Noland of Gore Bay took part in the Ontario Powerlifting Association (OPA) sanctioned power lifting meet, hosted by the Belle River Power Pit Gym.
Mr. Noland brought home a bronze medal by finishing third in his weight class. His final lifts included a 458 pound squat, 320 pound bench press and a 585 pound dead lift.
He acknowledged the Manitoulin Physio-Centre and the Manitoulin Chiropractic Clinic for helping him prepare for this meet, and especially to everyone with the Burpee-Mills Fitness Centre for the support.
