I read with interest your article about the Gore Bay/Manitoulin Airport. I am pleased to hear that the airport flying club is bringing increased use and interest in this fabulous airport.
I lived in Southern Michigan for 30 years and have very fond memories flying into this airport, at first as a customs stop, then as a destination airport for a long weekend, or even a week’s vacation on the Manitoulin or on to Killarney Provincial Park with family or friends.
Although I live in northern Minnesota now, your article has renewed an interest in coming back to Gore Bay and in particular, the Gore Bay airport.
Congratulations on your new flying club. Hopefully, I’ll be able to arrange time to come back.
