A resident of Manitowaning. Died peacefully at home on Friday, at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Vivian (nee Bailey). Loving father of Peter (Trish) and Sandra (Rick). Proud grandfather of Ashley (Reid), Jordan. Jimmy (Shelby), Drew (Steve). Special great-grandfather of Chase and Lilly. Dear brother of Wayne and Burke (Alice). Predeceased by parents Margaret (nee Chatwell) and Clarence Pennie. In days of better health George loved dancing with his wife Vivian whom he was married to for 57 years, curling, playing hockey, ice fishing, and you never knew where or when he would stop in for a visit. George was a Charter member of Manitowaning Lions Club and was always there to volunteer for any club. He loved and was very proud to be a Lion. George’s smile was infectious and his laugh filled the room and he will be missed by many. Cremation with a celebration will be held in the summer.
