GORE BAY—Along with great hockey and with tremendous community support, the return of the annual Frosty Cup Benefit Hockey Tournament will support four local individuals.

“The tournament was a huge success,” stated Scott McDougall, one of the organizers of the tournament held in Gore Bay last weekend. “There was some really good hockey played during the weekend, and the community support was awesome. There was great attendance at the games and the bar operated by the Gore Bay Rotary Club throughout the weekend was packed Friday and Saturday until it was time for the Frosty Cup dance (Saturday evening), which was also packed, and was hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 514 in Gore Bay.”

Mr. McDougall also mentioned, “the town and the Gore Bay arena staff were awesome.”

Members of the public were also very generous in donating funds toward the ice time at the arena for the tournament. The Rotary Club, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 514 and the Frosty Cup committee worked together to organize this year’s tournament.

Proceeds from the tournament and bar at the arena, as well as from the Legion dance, are being donated to four individuals in need of some assistance.
