To the Expositor:
Knowing as much as we do in this day and age about spaying and neutering animals, I am constantly seeing signs for free kittens. I know of one lady that brags her cat is like 18 and has had 700 kittens in her lifetime. I think this is horrible and just plain ignorant. Manitowaning is trying to clean up the cat population and I am still seeing signs of free kittens in other places of the Island.
Hats off to the group in Manitowaning and it is so sad that other folks do not get the message, maybe the ignorant do not read the paper (for shame). The people that I see all the time with this sign on their property have children so I think it would be a wise and good thing to start the children off knowing that we take care of our animals, they are not just a commodity.
