Earl “Shrugg” Obotossaway “Maachigiizhik”, a resident of Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation, died peacefully at his residence on Friday, June 17, 2016 at the age of 82. Born to Ruby Owl and Frank Obotossaway both predeceased. He is survived by his beloved wife Noreen (nee Nahwegezhic). Loved father of Karen (Barrie) of AOK, Carol (Bruce) of Pembroke, Robert of AOK, Jeffrey of AOK, Jennifer (Alex) of Sudbury, Amanda (Sean) of AOK, Ashley (Michael) of Sault Ste. Marie, Amy (Geoffrey) of Calgary. Beloved grandfather of 19, great-grandfather of 29 and great-great-grandfather of 10. Predeceased by his children Greg and Janice. Earl is survived by his sister Christine Elliot. Family and friends gathered at the Aundeck Omni Kaning Community Centre on Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 1 pm. Funeral Services were held at the Aundeck Omni Kaning Community Centre on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 11 am with Reverend Gerry Legault officiating. Burial at the Aundeck Omni Kaning Cemetery.
