MANITOULIN—Unionized staff at three local area Northern Credit Union banking institutions now have a new contract agreement in place.
Unifor Local 74-1 President Joanne Lamothe has reported that a tentative agreement was reached between the Northern Credit Unions in Espanola, Little Current and Mindemoya and the union on August 30.
On Thursday, September 6, the 10 members voted in favour of the new three-year agreement.
The contract includes improvements in wages, benefits, stronger language and equivalency for seniority.
The three-year contract is retroactive to April 1, 2018 and expires on March 31, 2020.
