Well, no sign of spring yet! This winter just wants to linger longer. Perhaps next week I’ll be writing about seeing the first Robin of the year.

Eva, Marilyn, Annabelle and Reta enjoyed the stew dinner and euchre tournament on Wednesday afternoon at the Little Current Legion. The Little Current “Scarlet Red” red hatters had their monthly luncheon at Mum’s Restaurant and Bakery in Mindemoya on Wednesday.

Dorothy, Marilyn and Anna spent an evening playing euchre with Lois who is still in her cast. You are being missed Lois. We hope you are up and around soon.

Sandra Morgan had her Mom visiting for a week in Providence Bay.

The families of Michelle McFarlane Bryant and Steve Bryant would like to thank you for all your support as Steve had open heart surgery. Your financial assistance is still needed. You can donate at any Island BMO in Michelle’s name. We’re glad to hear that Repha Vanhorn is home from the hospital. We’re thinking of Max McArthur who was born and raised in Providence Bay and now resides in Florida. Our best wishes to Ted Jackson.

Grand Slam Curling in Fort McMurray Alberta on March 12 to the 16 had over 200 leaks in the roof. Sounds familiar!

The euchre tournament in Mindemoya has 11 tables. First place to MaryAnn and Dorothy; second place, Tina and Mark; and third and fourth was tied to Marie and Marion and Deanie and Marcel.

Hello to Caroline and Christine Cranston who are visiting from Calgary. We’re sorry we don’t have more spring-like weather for you! Enjoy your visit with friends and family.

We’re thinking of everyone who is under the weather or in hospital. Get well soon.

The Manitoulin Family Resources Food Bank will have their “Treasures Bring On Spring” luncheon on Wednesday, March 26 at the Mindemoya Missionary Church from 11 am until 1 pm. $10 includes soup, sandwich, dessert and beverage. The “Winter’s End” Bag Sale at the Manitoulin Family Resources Treasures Thrift Shop at 18 Forest Street, Mindemoya is March 12 to April 1 for only $10 a bag. Their hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday-Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm and Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm. See you at these events, supporting Manitoulin Family Resources Food Bank.

Please be mindful to shop locally and support your Island businesses. Keep your pets inside and don’t forget to feed the birds and deer. Call 705-377-4909 and leave your notes, news and tidbits on the answering machine or email centralchatter@gmail.com. Please don’t forget to say your name and telephone number if I have to confirm any news.

That’s all the news that is fit to print! Take good care.
