In loving memory of Catherine Liscumb, a resident of the Manitoulin Lodge and formerly of Providence Bay, who died at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Mindemoya on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the age of 88 years. She was born at Ice Lake, daughter of the late John and Sarah (McVey) Hallett. Catherine was a resident of the Lodge for the past eight years. Catherine was very involved in the community, canvassing for the Heart and Stroke Foundation for many years. She was a great neighbour and helped others in the community whenever needed. Catherine’s greatest love in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Catherine was predeceased by her husband Melvin on August 19, 2001. Loving and loved mother of Lyle (Gayle) of Milton, Joan McMurray (Don) of Tehkummah, Marlene Moore (Rob Gibson) of Providence Bay and Robert (Peggie) of Sudbury. Predeceased by children Rosella in 1969 and Jackie in 1953. Proud grandmother of Jerry (Lori), Krista (Ronnie), Shawn (Tracy), Craig (Marguerite), Lisa (Rod), Paul (Maryanne) and Melanie (Ben) and great grandchildren Peter, Emily, Mollie, Matthew, Collin, Dustin, Morgan, Hailey, Kati and Charlotte. Predeceased by grandchildren Maryann and Travis. Also survived by sister-in-law Lillian Liscumb. Predeceased by brother Roy and his wife Orma and sisters Verna and husband Ab Eadie and Ethel and her husband Horace Moore. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends called at the Community of Christ Church in Providence Bay on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 12 pm – 2 pm. The funeral service to celebrate Catherine’s life was conducted at 2 pm with Mr. Weston Leeson and Mr. Lyle Dewar officiating. Interment in Providence Bay Cemetery.
