Darlene Naponse Exhibit Opening – Bi Mookseg – Surfacing

M’CHIGEENG – The Ojibwe Cultural Foundation is pleased to open a multi-layered video exhibition by Darlene Naponse, curated and co-ordinated by Deanna Nebenionquit and the Art Gallery of Sudbury. The opening night will be on May 26, 2016 at 6:30 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to attend. An Artist and Curator discussion will take place with Darlene Naponse and Deanna Nebenionquit at 7:15.

Live music night with Jimmy Sidlar and crafts with Darlene Bebonang will be held alongside the opening. Snacks and pizza will be available too.

Darlene Naponse is an Anishnaabe kwe from Atikameksheng Anishnawbek (Whitefish Lake First Nation). She uses film, photography, and poetry to present contemporary First Nation stories and ideas.

Bi Mookseg – Surfacing explores the relationship between Mother Earth and human activity.

The exhibition continues until June 15, 2016.
