Alice Isabell Kirk died peacefully at the Wikwemikong Nursing Home on Wednesday, April 10, 2012 at the age of 96. Predeceased by husband Ivan Kirk and first husband Russell Hore. Mother of Myrtle Stevens of Garson (husband William predeceased), Eleanor Howe of Sheguiandah (husband Don predeceased), Ronald Hore (predeceased) wife Debbie of London. Grandmother of Rob, Dan, Barry, Doug, Ed (predeceased) Leanna, Bob, Denise, David and of 20 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Sister of Percy Collins and wife May (both predeceased), Elizabeth and husband Wilbert McCulligh (both predeceased), Walter Collins (predeceased)(wife Noreen), Lucie and husband Andrew Doan (both predeceased), Bella and husband Fred Dennis (both predeceased), Mable Peters (predeceased), Richard Collins and wife Dorothy (both predeceased), Pearl Smith (husband Aubrey “Smitty” predeceased), Dorothy Wisson (friend Orest Nador) (husband Lorne “Spike” predeceased), Norman Collins and wife Ruth (both predeceased), Clifford Collins (predeceased) (wife Moria). Alice was known for her quiet way and her little wave. She loved to hear about her family and to share local history and information. She was a wealth of knowledge and memories. She enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, quilting and going to the Women’s Institute meetings. Visitation was from 7 pm to 9 pm on Sunday, April 14, 2013. Funeral Service was at 11 am on Monday, April 15, 2013, all at Island Funeral Home. Burial in the spring at Elmview Cemetery. Donations to MHC Aux or Sheguiandah United Church.
