Writer rebuts Island philosopher’s take on windmills

To the Expositor:

In response to the letter written by Phil Dabous ‘Wind farms opposition framed by Island philosopher,’ July 25, page 4. I know Phil personally. He has seen me drink more than one beer. He dropped out of our society 10 years ago and now spends nine months of the year in Vietnam.

Mr. Dabous doesn’t have to worry about the high cost of electricity on Manitoulin Island because he lives in Vietnam. He doesn’t worry about Hydro One wasting taxes because he lives in Vietnam. He doesn’t have to worry about the industrialization of Manitoulin Island because he lives in Vietnam. He doesn’t pay taxes in Canada because he lives in Vietnam.

This argument about the windmills has become so ridiculous that a wandering white man living in Vietnam is telling Native Americans what to do with their land on Manitoulin Island.
