Operating since 1989, arrive alive DRIVE SOBER^® receives outstanding support from the public and media for which we are very grateful. A registered charity, we do not telemarket and do not use professional fundraisers. Our mission is to eliminate impaired driving in Ontario.

What it is:

• Year-round awareness campaign encouraging the public to phone 911 or *OPP when they see a suspected impaired driver
• Can act as an intervention to impaired drivers and as a deterrent to potential impaired drivers
• Communities organize network amongst police, public health, local business, EMS, government and other interested parties
• Program components typically include road signs/billboards, signs in restaurants/businesses, ad in newspaper, PSA.
• Approaches are tailored to different communities - boating, atv, snowmobiling, French language ...

How do I get involved?

Operation Lookout is available as a program for any groups who are interested in running the program locally. Committees/groups are given materials (road signs and stickers) to support the program locally along with a "resource and best practice guide". Groups who already run Operation Lookout have a great history with the program and can often offer good advice on start up approaches and insight into local issues or challenges. An email list of who is already running the program will be available shortly.
