Winter storm with snow and blowing snow starting Thursday.
A low pressure system from Colorado is expected to intensify into a winter storm as it approaches the Great Lakes Thursday.
An expanding area of snow is expected to move into Northeastern Ontario from Michigan beginning Thursday morning. As the storm centre gets closer the snow will likely become quite heavy at times by Thursday evening.
Significant snow amounts are expected with this storm Thursday and Friday with total snowfall amounts of near 25 cm or more quite possible by Friday afternoon across the regions as the storm centre tracks across the Lower Great Lakes into New England.
In addition strong and gusty easterly winds are expected to cause very low to at times nil visibility in blowing snow Thursday and Friday.
Motorists are advised to adjust travel plans accordingly as driving conditions will rapidly deteriorate and become hazardous after the snow begins on Thursday.
