Wilma Suzanne Corbiere


August 6, 1960 – November 18, 2013

In loving memory of Wilma Corbiere, a resident of M’Chigeeng First Nation, who passed away at her residence on Monday, November 18, 2013 at the age of 53 years. She was born in Mindemoya, daughter of the late Alphonse J. and Catherine (Gadabushi) Corbiere. Wilma liked to play bingo and go to the casino, but her favourite times and the most delight she had in her life was spending time with her grandchildren and going to watch them play hockey. Wilma will be sadly missed by her long time friend John Anwhatin. Loving and loved mother of Amanda Corbiere (Rick Waboose) of M’Chigeeng, Miranda Corbiere of Sault Ste. Marie, Emery Corbiere (Shannon), Luke Anwhatin and Collin Anwhatin all of M’Chigeeng. Predeceased by son Jonas Anwhatin. Proud grandmother of Nevada, Toni-Marie, Shawna-Lynn, Kaitlyn, Madison, Rea-Lynn, McKayla, Carolyn, Swayde, Kierrah, Christian, Riley, Kendra and Jonas. Dear sister of Laura-Jean (Joseph) Anwhatin, Ida (Don) Coopenace, Billy Corbiere, Hanson Corbiere (friend Denise) and Ruby Corbiere (friend Rick). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Friends and relatives called at Wilma’s residence, 52 Riverside Drive, M’Chigeeng after 11 am on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. The funeral mass to celebrate Wilma’s life was conducted at Immaculate Conception Church on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 11 am.with Fr. Jim Kelly as celebrant. Interment in M’Chigeeng Cemetery.
