William Richard “Dick” Dryland


Dryland-William-Richard0001In loving memory of William Richard “Dick” Dryland, 75 years, who passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Maison Vale Hospice. Beloved husband of Margaret Dryland (nee Laidler) of Sudbury. Loving father of Andrew (Pamela), Thomas (Debora Frantila) and Mathew. Cherished grandfather of Victoria. Dear son of William and Ethel Dryland both predeceased. Dear brother of Arthur and James both predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Born in Caledon Township, Dick married Margaret (Laidler) in Toronto in 1962. He served in the Royal Canadian Army, Fort Garry Horse, for six years, and served three years with NATO in Germany. Dick also served as a scout leader for a number of years. After working with Vale INCO for 26 years as a diesel mechanic, Dick retired in 1991 to Manitoulin Island (near Gore Bay). Memorial Service will be in the R. J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 1 pm. (Friends may gather after 12:30 pm Friday, August 2, 2013). Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to Maison Vale Hospice would be appreciated.
