William “Bill” Herbert Hembruff, a resident of Hamilton, died peacefully at Hamilton General Hospital on June 7, 2014 at the age of 83. Born to Janet (Varey) and James Hembruff on December 20, 1930. Beloved partner of Mary Lencses for over 40 years. Dear brother of Donald Hembruff (predeceased) wife Norma of Manitowaning and Marilyn Harasym (husband Morris predeceased) of Manitowaning. Uncle of Brenda Maguire (Doug), Karla Hembruff (Gerald), Shirley Harasym Osborne (Rob), Steven, Jim Harasym (Marilyn), Larry Harasym (Adrienne), Janet Prairie (Gary). Great-uncle of Sara (Jason), Marilee, Mallory, Evan, Mitchell, Jeffrey, Joel, Carter (Natasha), Elijah, Brodie, and great-great-uncle of Keighley, Landen, Hailee, Michael, Hannah. Bill drove buses all his life, he was known as “Bussie Bill”. He drove public school, high school, charter buses and for many years as a city bus driver. He was known for loving Tim Horton’s, and at Tim Horton’s for his fondness for their broccoli soup. He loved spending time in the sun, and exercising, skating and roller blading till he was 80. In younger years, he played hockey and ball. Every winter for many years Bill and Mary traveled together to Florida for the winter. Family and friends will gather at Island Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from 3 pm with Funeral Service at 4 pm. Burial at Hilly Grove Cemetery.
