Willard Arnold Sloss, of Spring Bay, passed away peacefully at his residence, with his family by his side on Monday, June 6, 2016, in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Marie and dear father of Irving (Debbie) of North Bay and Diane (Gerry) Lalonde of Spring Bay. Willard will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Todd (Jenny), Jason (Maigan), Andrew (Dana), Bob and two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three great-step-grandchildren, brother Marvin of Gore Bay, sister Orpha (Irwin) Duxbury of Espanola, sister-in-laws Bernice Sloss of Little Current and Leona Sloss of Espanola. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Mamie (Stacks) Sloss, daughter Beverley in infancy, grandson Brian, brothers Stewart, Verdun, Chester and sisters Kathleen, Marjorie and Elva, sister-in-laws Irene, Lillian and Grace, brother-in-laws Bill and George. Willard’s life was devoted to spending time with family, friends, farming and hunting. Visitation will be held at the Spring Bay Pentecostal Church on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm, where the funeral service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 11 am with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Dan Thompson officiating. Pallbearers are grandsons, Todd Shaw, Jason Shaw, Andrew Sloss, Bob Sloss and nephews Ken Sloss and Richard Briscoe. Honourary pallbearers are Marvin Sloss, John Lewis, Larry McAllister, Brian Bene, Ervin MacIntyre, Fred Scott, Ken Lewis and Robbie Breathat. Interment Gordon Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Spring Bay Pentecostal Church, Gideon Bible Society or charity of choice as expressions of sympathy.
