In loving memory of Wilhelmine Louise Batman of Little Current who died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the age of 85. Born to Lavina and WL Ferguson on April 12, 1928. Survived by her beloved children Sandra (Dennis) Valiquette of Webbwood, Carol (Ron) Sheppard of Rockville, Tom of Sheguiandah and Todd (Gwen) of Sheguiandah. Proud Gramma of Cindy, Chad and Cara Valiquette, Darcy, Paul and Robert Sheppard, Adam Batman and Great-Gramma of Bradley, Christian (predeceased), Benjamin, Tyler, Tory, Avery, Lindsay, Garrett and Knox. Predeceased by all her siblings Doug Ferguson, Patricia (Harold) Clarke, Ruth (Roy) Dunlop, Frances (Ralph Batman surviving). Survived by former husband Gerald Batman. Wilhelmine grew up in Green Bay, moved to Sheguiandah in 1947. She was the proprietor of a motel in Sheguiandah for a number of years and, upon retirement moved to Little Current. She was a multi-talented woman, a wonderful seamstress, a versatile organist who played for countless weddings and funerals and other events, and also led the choir in Sheguiandah Church and then Little Current United. She loved to travel, loved flowers, evident in her blooming yard and enjoyed music, especially Daniel O’Donnell. Visitation was from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Island Funeral Home. Funeral Service was at 2 pm on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Little Current United Church. Cremation. Burial of ashes at Green Bay Cemetery. Donations to Little Current United Church, Sick Kids or to the Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary Chemo Project would be appreciated.
