Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service welcomes new constable

The Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service welcomed a new constable to its ranks last week. Constable Martin Necan, left, is welcomed to the detachment by Jason Spooner, acting chief of police.

WIIKWEMKOONG—The Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service (WTPS) has welcomed a new constable to its ranks.

“We are welcoming Constable Martin Necan as our newest experienced officer for WTPS,” said Jason Spooner, acting chief of police for WTPS.

On July 11 Acting Chief of Police Spooner presented Constable Necan with his badge. “Constable Necan joins WTPS as an experienced officer from Northwest Ontario. Constable Necan looks forward to meeting community members and serving Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory (WUT).”

“WTPS offers successful candidates the opportunity for a long and rewarding career in law enforcement with an opportunity for advancement while receiving police training and performing a variety of functions within the service,” said Acting Chief of Police Spooner.
