Wiikwemkoong hockey player named to Team NOHA roster for March OHL Cup

WIIKWEMKOONG—Ashton Pitawanakwat of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory has made the Team Northern Ontario Hockey Association (NOHA) roster and will be participating at the OHL Cup to be held in March.

Ashton, who plays for the Sudbury Wolves U16 AAA hockey team, has been named to Team NOHA which, in conjunction with the Great North U18 League, “is pleased to announce the Team NOHA roster, comprised of 2008 born players who have been selected to participate at the OHL Cup to be held March 25-30 at the Scotiabank Pond in Mississauga.”

“Ashton is a very good player,” said Jacob Brown, technical director of operations with NOHA. He pointed out the OHL Cup, “is like a draft showcase for the players.”

Ashton is a forward on the Sudbury Wolves U16 AAA team.
