To the Expositor:
I must confess that I captioned this letter to catch your attention, but there is an answer. In short, they both only appear at certain times of the year. Wiarton Willy, each spring to forecast weather, and Mike Brown, only at election time to give out our money.
Take this thought with you when going to the polls in October. Ontario cannot afford religious discrimination! We should have one school board in Ontario, one! I belong to an associate organization that has hired a financial auditor to take each of the 72 school boards in Ontario, financial reports for 2010, and calculate the savings we would realize with one board. Here is what they came up with using the Board’s own reports. In one year alone, Ontario would save 1.6 billion dollars overnight with one school board. Over five years it would amount to 6.5 billion dollars.
Anyone wishing a copy of this audit feel free to contact me and I will supply it to you to audit yourself. Our organization has offered to share this with the government at no cost to them, but you know the answer.
We could eliminate our student’s post secondary debt, all of it. We would not have to turn to split grades, closing schools and so on. I personally could weep.
I say no more except we cannot afford religious discrimination. If our kids do well it will benefit me mostly but them too.
