In loving memory of Wendy Carol Michael of Manitou Shores Drive who died peacefully in her sleep at Manitoulin Health Centre at the age of 60. Wendy worked as a clerk for Newson’s IDA in Little Current, then moving on to work at BMO, the Royal, and then the CIBC, as Branch Administrator in Sault Ste. Marie. She left the bank to become a Registered Practical Nurse, working in the Sault Area Hospital and Algoma Manor in Thessalon. Wendy was always “caring for others”. After a critical illness in 1999-2000 she had to retire, making it possible to move back to the Manitoulin. Beloved wife of Gerry. Cherished sister of Lynda Parsons of Sheguiandah, Bonnie and George Sandala of Windsor, Wayne Collins and Vicki of Bruce Mines, Erline Brus of Maple Ridge, BC, Martin Collins of Vancouver, BC and sister-in-law of Barry and Maxine Michael of Sudbury and Elaine and John Leach of Sheguiandah. Loved aunt of Sherri, Dwayne, Morgan, Kimberley, Amanda, Michael, Gregory, Stacy, Norman, Tige, Kori, Kia, Kevin, Kirk, Karlene, Laurie, Debbie and Darren. Loved by her many great-nieces and nephews. Beloved Niece of Walter, Larry, Bernice, Thelma, Lorraine, Lois, Doreen, Alice, Dorothy, Pearl, Moria, and Richard. Predeceased by parents Ruth (nee Way) and Norman Collins. Survived by mother-in-law Mona Gelineau. Memorial Service was at 2 pm on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Island Funeral Home. Burial of ashes in Elmview Cemetery, Sheguiandah. Donations to Daffodil Terrace or Manitoulin Health Centre. Arrangements entrusted to Island Funeral Home, Little Current.
