Freezing rain warning in effect for Manitoulin Island
A developing low pressure area originating in Colorado is forecast to track across the central Great Lakes on Wednesday. Precipitation is expected to arrive in the form of freezing rain towards dawn early Wednesday morning over extreme southwestern Ontario and spread northeastwards through the morning.
The freezing rain will likely persist for a few hours before changing to rain later in the morning or early in the afternoon. Ice accumulation is possible In some locales.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
Freezing Rain Warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
